Why We Should Worry & Other Blogs

I somehow came across these blogs that are really full of information and updated. Stuff we don't read on newspapers but that the common people are talking about start off reading this...

(Read the comments of this post and how they talk about the "monarchy"...this is the stuff you don't hear on the newspapers and only whispered among the Thais or concerned people.)

Mother-Daughter Silly Incidents

I was holding my bottle of Centrum pills with one hand a pitcher filled with water in another hand. I was talking to my Mom and thinking in my head that I needed to fill the glass with water so I can drink my vitamins. I unconsciously lifted the pitcher and was about to pour the water in to the bottle of pills which I thought was the glass. I caught myself in time.

My mom started laughing and told me an incident that just happened to her recently.

She was in the kitchen talking to my Dad and at the same time cracking eggs into a bowl. While she was talking she got an egg cracked it and put the egg yoke into the SINK and the shell into the bowl with the other egg yokes and only realized that when she started mixing the contents in the bowl.

We had a good laugh over our silliness. =)

I think my Mom's happy I did that silly thing too...Coz to her it means she's not showing signs of "Oldness or Aging"...HEHEHEHEH....

November 29

It's no longer a matter of months.
It is now only a matter of weeks.
It is a matter of 23 days.

I have 2 weeks of work left.
This coming week and then the next week.
Which means that the week after is the last week before the BIG DAY!

I'm excited.
I'm nervous.
I'm overwhelmed.

I want to think about it.
I want to forget about it.

I'm looking forward to meeting Bayu.
I'm having a good time spending time with my family - Tonight we went to eat in a Thai restaurant and walk around at J Avenue. The cool weather made it a perfect evening.

Strawberry Shortcake

I could see that my student was teary eyed. She was lifting her face skyward as if to let the tears back into the the tear ducts. I asked her what was wrong. She said she misses her parents. I knew that her parents went to Australia for the week and she was staying with her maid. I also knew they were coming back today and so I told her. "Well, you should be happy! They'll be back today. " She replied "Not if the airport is closed!"

-----

I had Kanom Jin for lunch. Literally translated and Snack Chinese.
Just call it the Chinese noodles.

------
Hazel, Richmond, Mom, Dolly and I went to see P'Jan. P'Jan is the lady making my wedding dress. I was so stressed that I couldn't fit it coz it hought I had gained weight. Luckily, I was the same as the last time I tried on the dress. I can get my dress next Thursday already! I feeling kinda tired, stressed and sick of all the preprations and stuf we have to do for wedding prep. Dolly just said I needed a sugar high. I totally agreed with her. So off we went to Sugaroma!!! I felt soooooo good afterwards. =D

Whipped cream, strawberries and jelly

Christmas Tree

This is The Village Hand Christmas Tree

Everyone in The Village makes their hand print and then it will be put together to make a Christmas Tree which will be one of the main decorations for our Christmas Program.

Bridal Facial.

I just had a facial. It was sooo goood. I took a pictures but it's too ugly.

I'm having 2 more sessions of facials plus body scrub, manicure, pedicure, etc. etc.

They shall help my days to pass by quickly.

I went to my first concert last night and my first facial today.

Hungry and Blessed

After work the day before yesterday (yes, Tuesday) I got a call from Hazel through Dolly's phone to ask if I wanna meet them to eat at Ton Krueng. It's a delicious Thai restaurant near JJ Avenue Thonglor soi 15 or something.

I went there by taxi and the taxi driver was very talkative. He was telling me that he get around 500 to 1000 Baht income per day. And he wants to save up 30,000 Baht. He wanted to save that up and he was so excited.

I just smiled and gulped my saliva down. Here I am listening to a man who has to drive around Bangkok for hours and hours to get 500 Baht which I will be spending with Dolly and Hazel for our Dinner. *Gulp..HAHAHA..Yeah..and for that 30,000 he plans to save...well someone of can earn that in 2 or 3 months.

It didn't make me lose my apetite, but I realize that I am blessed and fortunate and there's no need for me to complain about lacking anything =)

I didn't take any of the Thai food but we ate at Swensens afterwards.

Concert & Friends; Friends & Concert

MLTR(Asian Version)

Okay. So I'm here the next day to finish that sentence from my post yesterday.

So about that bag I was looking for I finally found it. My mom came back just on time for her to tell me where it is. She is the one who usually knows where all the stuff are...hehhe.

Well, I went to meet Papz and JJ at the gate. We rod a taxi to Shane's house and then Shane drove us to Muang Tong Tanee ..It's so far! We met Kua and Dew and Tae. Those names mentioned are all my high school friends. Same batch(of cookies).

(Papz, JJ, Tae, Shane)

All the fast food food in that place were closed so we were left to eat at Black Canyon. I was gonna say Grand Canyon. Anyway, don't order the tea with milk. The weirdest taste ever. JJ finished it though.

MLTR(Michael Learns To Rock).

We found out last night that there is no Michael in that band. There is a female in that band and they are from Denmark. What true fans. Haha....

It was mostly the older generation there. I gues we knew about them because of my parents and our older siblings =P

It was boring at first. They played all these songs we didn't know but the encore was the best. They started playing the songs we knew and everyone went towards the front. The most interesting about the boring part was when the main singer put his hand to his ear and stopped singing to let the audience sing but no one sang...embarassing!..I was asking JJ if they knew that Thai ppl don't speak English and therefore don't sing in English either! And the audience was sooo...still...probably because of all the political problems going on. Hahha.

(Everyone moving forward during the encore.)

(We had connections to go backstage to meet the band but they took so long to come out because they were discussing how they'd go back since the airport was closed so we decided to just go back home. This is the stage they were on. We passed it to literally go backstage to meet the people we ended up not meeting!)

In a rush

I'm going to go off to the MLTR concert soon. I'm just waiting for Papz call. At first I thought it was gonna be just me and him but today he called and said we're going with a few of our high school friends. Honestly speaking I still have this "inferiority complex" thing from high school. I find myelf avoiding them sometimes. I was kinda uh-oh I thought it was just Papz and I! But oh wel, I'm just being my overly thinking self. I've met up with a few high school friends lately and they're really happy to see me and I'm happy to see them too! And anyways I'm a confident and beautiful lady now improved from the high school version...MUAHAHAHA.

I'm also booking my parent-inlaws Air tickets today. Yes, ladies and gentlemen things are falling into place. Little by little. Soon that day will come! Did I mention to you that 3 very very important things are going to happen to me in December? 1.) I'm getting married..2.) I"m ..ahem..well*cough the wedding night..3.) I'm leaving to a new destination!!

Right now I'm looking for a certain bag to use to the concert and I can't find it! I searched all over ..

okay finish story later, Paps just called. Am meeting him and JJ!

In a Women's Shoe

I did a hair makeover today. Well, more like a hair do over. I permed and colored my hair, oh and trimmed it a bit too. I colored it as natural as possible. This is just one of my to do lists for wedding preparation.

As the lady was rolling the rolls onto my hair we were both watching the news and this was one of their news...a bra for men is gaining popularity in Japan. In fact take a look at this add...Seriously, the news even showed a guy wearing it and the lady who came up with this brilliant idea. Her reason to invent this Men's Premium Brassiere? So that men can be in touch with their femenine side and also be able to have a sense of what women have to go through. Heh.

Anyway, It took 5 hours for my whole hair process in that shop. Washing, cutting, rolling, waiting, steaming, waiting, washing, coloring, washing, blowdrying...

Why don't men try doing that instead of wearing a bra??

I'm Crying a River

I've been saving up pictures to blog on. Pictures from the last two weeks. I was just about to start blogging on them when...it was accidentally deleted...ALL of it. I'm sorry. No beautiful pictures of me, food and trivial stuff I've been up to.

You should hear my wails and cry of despair.

On the Other Side

I've been a student for...hmmm...16 years. I'm so used to being the one sitting with the rest of the crowd at a table being told what to do. Now...I am in the same room but on a different side. I'm on the white board side. Yes, it's true as a teacher I'm still in a classroom but this time I'm the one up front and telling people what to do...well, not dictating them...helping them. Being their "facilitator" is the word I learned in college. I mean sure it's great. I'm the one giving out tests, projects and assignments. But as a new teacher I'm still learning to do things without people telling me what to do like when I was a student. The part, for me, that is really different is that I "have" to be on time. No being tardy or just sleeping in because you're lazy...and mostly not being able to sneak a nap during class time. I mean imagine a teacher laying her head on the table and just sleeping. No. Not for even a second! Hehehe...oh gosh I'm so sleepy now. I better go home...but when I go home I have to do reports on my kids....hey! As a teacher I still do reports...it's not just me giving the kids somesthing to do...yeah it's just that not being able to sleep or skip a class part..

MUAHAHAHAHA!

Queen Sick-of-it

Just like Sharon said the other day on FB - I'm sick of being sick! It's been exactly a weeks since I got sick and I feel like I'm beginning to forget what it feels like to be healthy, wealthy and wise!...well..just healthy I mean. (The wealthy and wise doesn't exist =p) I know I'm alllllmost well but there's still that blocked nose and the icky phelm in my throat. Not to mention the cough and the snoring sound I make when I try to breathe in and out at night. *Sigh....It's horrible to be sick it is. Oh I really pray for those people who are like bed-ridden sick.

Anyways, I'm sounding like such a drama queen. I'm more fine than I sound. I have some place to go to. See you around everybody.
"I'm glad there are nerds like you...for non-nerds like me"

17 November 2008

Shhh

Shhh. I have a secret - I'm always hungry. My stomach is a bottomless pit but protrudes under even my loose shirts (umm...it's obvious so I guess it's not a secret) and sometimes I feel really useless.

Signs Everywhere

I was debating whether I should wear my gray pants or black pants. I knew the grey pants were tighter on me and I would feel more comfortable in the black ones. But I thought I would be fine and chose the tighter, gray pants. WRONG decision. By mid morning I had a terrible stomach ache. I was so stubborn and knew I should've worn the other pants. So, I just got some P.E. shorts they had in storage and wore those. Ahhh...felt so much better. No more stomach problems. So. Don't be stubborn! Wear the ones you'll feel comfortable in =P

Oh, and that's a sign for me to lose weight. *sigh...

About my scalp treatment. I smelt like vinegar and chips. I didn't rinse out the vinegar properly. Hehe sorry if I'm grossing you guys out.

Traffic was bad and pollution as usual after work. Made my shoulder ache. That's a sign I'm gonna need to get that shoulder massage one day soon. I usually wait until it's really bad before I drag my sorry self into Magnolia Spa.

It's 5.30 and getting darker...that's a sign I should start preparing for class tomorrow and other VIP preparations...hix hix hix.

I'm sleepy. I'm always sleepy when I'm not supposed to be. It's a sign my body is bored and trying to tempt me from doing what I'm supposed to do.

16 November 2008

Scalp Treatment

I have dandruff but lately it's been horrible!! The worst ever! My head was terrifyingly itchy! So I went on to google and searched "how to get rid of dandruff!!!" Yeah I put the three exclamation marks. I found these one site and then another that gave some ingredients I had at home. So I did my business. Actually on these sites they gave different "recipes" but I took 3 altogether and did them tonight. My sister had this weird expression on her face and asked me it they wouldn't clash..I told her " I don't care, I'm desperate."

So...
1. Mix one lime juice with coconut oil and massage into scalp. Leave for 15 minutes.
2. Wash hair normally with prescribed shampoo. Pour vinegar on scalp and leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse out.
3. One part mouthwash with 6 part water pour on to scalp. No need to rinse out.

Yup. I will tell you if it works! But I'm feeling much better now in case you're wondering. I need to put some saline solution into my eye though...got some vinegar in there.

Nothing in Particular

Well, I went to Hospital today to consult about some "stuff" with the doctor there. I bought Au Bon Pain and came back home and chatted with Bayu on skype. I then became sleepy as I usually do on any afternoon and so decided to have a little nap...which lasted almost 4 hours. It's going to be hard to fall asleep when I'm supposed to tonight...NO, No not good for an insomniac like me.

Cool thing is while I was napping I heard my mom making lots of noise downstairs...I thought she was doing some serious spring cleaning. In a way she did but it was more like Christmas decorating. Hahha! She changed the table cloth to green and put up the Christmas tree and lights and some pink ribbons ont our newly washed curtain. What a happy feeling that is.

Out of the blue it started drizzling and as I was writing this I checked Deanna's blog. I'm tagged and I will write something about that something in my next post Deanna! Oh and I just found my childhood friend on FB! I remember him really well because we used to be neighbors and it used to be him, me and 2 other friends all the time playing together in the campus. We were of the same age. It's been like 16 years I haven't heard from him! It's awesome.

Unfortunately, I was looking for yoghurt/yougurt in the fridge but there is none! It's popular at my home I guess. And I've got to do some serious planning for the Christmas Production at work. It's the biggest program of the school year. So gtg.

Have a nice week you guys. My weekend was great while it lasted.

14 November 2008

Yogurt?Youghurt?

Which is the correct spelling? Or is it the whole American/British English thingie. Anyways, what's the benefits of eating yoghurt?Yogurt? Who knows! Go look it up in google.com.

Chocolate, blueberry and strawberry yoghurt/yogurt.

I"m eating the blueberry flavored one now despite my non-functioning taste buds. I can say it tastes good only through the texture...and through "memory tasting" connecting the memory of the taste of blueberry and yoghurt from the past to the tasteless one in my mouth...yummy...0_O

P.s. This post was inspired by Dell and Shiz.

MK..What Does it Stand For?

Because I am sick we ate at MK! Yay! Very good for the soul, throat and body.

Unfortunately I had to eat for the sake of eating. You know- eat to live. Usually, its live to eat. But because I had a blocked nose I couldn't taste anything. I hardly ate the duck and only half of the cream bun because I felt it was such a waste to eat it if I couldn't taste it. I'm a real taster. I truly thank God for my taste buds. Although, they can be a curse. Because thanks to my taste buds it's ...bye bye $$$ hello jiggly tummy Hahhaha!!!

Random of Past Few Days

Roast chicken and vegetables with pineapple passion smoothie.

When I was sick at home on Wednesday, Hazel brought her office mates to eat at home. 7 of them. We had Som Tum Pala, Kai yang, Khao neaow, and Thai style spicy bamboo shoots and banana heart..hehe duno the name.

I went to work on Thursday after resting Tues & Weds. But had a relapse after I got home. =( What crazy person puts up their pic when they're sick?....ME!

P' Bang made this krathongs for Haze and I. I was too sick to go and float it so Haz and Richmond went instead. Pretty ya?

Salted fish that is roasted. We don't eat the skin but eat the flest. It's very soft and white and fluffy and so yummy with the chily sauce.

Bus tickets and left over change from my everyday commute.

Mollel got this for me. Shimona and Renee finished it on Saturday night though when were in dire need of chocolate.

Thai and 2.5 Filipinos

I met lots of farangs and I was really surprised and delighted to know that alot of them knew so much Thai!! They could speak and understand quite an amount of Thai considering the amount of time they'd been here. So I was also happy to be part of their journey to learning Thai.

That's me (I really didn't realize I can sit so lady-like wa)
teaching some useful phrases...hehehe

And here we are the 2 and a half Filipinos (In the words of Romeo)
I really love discovering Filipinos who no nothing about The Philippines or can't speak Tagalog ...like me! I'm not alone in the world! Oh yeah and it was also Romeo's comment that made me realize I DO have my own accent! Now ain't that cool!

Prayer for Blessings

We new there was going to be No Talent Show but alot of us didn't seem to plan anything until the last minute and I'm telling you last minute stuff turns out reaallly great! Haah...I'm sure we can all relate to that.

So it was Saturday lunch and a group of us girls were sitting on the same table an we came to an agreement that we'd all do an item. We came up with ideas on the spot and practiced a few times and we were good to go...kinda...

We all make some silly mistakes but I think that's what made it more fun. It was a really happy moment for me!

So this was our item: Singing Give Me Oil In My Lamp using some action ideas from Bayu and coming up with our own lyrics like Dolly did.

So 6 girls 6 verses. Starting from Marisa (I hope I got her name right..hehe everyone kept asking each other's names over and over that weekend.) Shimona, Me, Renee, Cayla and Jennifer.

Lyrics are not exacly the same...just writing what I can remember na. Ooh and all the verses came up with our own actions.

Give me music for my soul
Keep me dancing, dancing, dancing
Give me music for my soul
I pray (ALLELUYA!)
Give me music for my soul
Keep me dancing, dancing, dancing
And for you I'll do a special ballet.

Chorus

Give me ink for my pen
Keep me writing, writing, writing
Give me ink for my pen
I pray (ALLELUYA!)
Give me ink for my pen
Keep me writing, writing, writing
You inspire everything that I say.

Chorus

Give me patience with my students
Keep me teaching, teaching, teaching
Give me patience with my students
I pray (ALLELUYA!)
Give me patinece with my students
Keep me teaching, teaching, teaching
Help me make it all the way to Friday.

Chorus

Give me food for my tummy
it's so yummy, yummy, yummy
Give me food for my tummy
I pray (HALLELUYA!)
Give me food for my tummy
It's so yummy, yummy, yummy
I'll be eating til the break of day.

Chorus

Give me milk for my bones
Keep me lifting, lifting, lifting
Give me milk for my bones
I Pray (ALLELUYA!)
Give me milk for my bones
Keep me lifting, lifting, lifting
I'll be strong enough to follow your way.

Chorus

Give me TP for my stall
Keep me wiping, wiping, wiping
Give me TP for my stall
I pray (ALLELUYA!)
Give me TP for my stall
Keep me wiping, wiping, wiping
I need 4.56 square a day.

Chorus

One day I'll show you the actions! Hehe. At the beginning we did the normal version Give me oil in my lamp and then went into our own versions. We ended by singing the chorus dramaticaly like oprah singers.

I think we all had a good laugh. I know I did even though I was so nervous singing my part!

No More Cheesy Fries

The first time I ate I ate Cheesy Fries was in February...2 days later I was admitted to the hospital with stomach flu for 3 days 2 nights.

The second time I ate Cheesy Fries was on October 25. It was a Saturday evening after worship at Newsong. After that I watched Eagle Eye in IMAX and could barely watch it becaues I was feeling like car sick.

Okay by this time I realized that Cheesy Fries might not be good for me. But I was thinking maybe it has nothing to do with the Cheesy Fries because the first time I ate and got sick also so happened to be the time that Bayu left Thailand permanently. As for the second time at IMAX I'm not the kind of person who can watch movies where the scenes are not stable..you know shaking everywhere and zooming this way and that...plus the IMAX screen was so huge.

So on Sunday after hanging out at Lumpini Part we went to McD's and I decided to order Cheesy Fries once more. Because it's so yummy!...and also because I wanted to see if I would get sick again. Honestly, I was thinking I wouldn't.

Well, by yesterday evening I had an itchy throat and I woke up at 2am this morning because it had gotten way worse. I could hardly sleep and well let's just say I couldn't make it to work as well. I just drank water and slept the whole day and I kinda lost my voice too.

So...was it the Cheesy Fries or the fact that I've been sleeping late the whole weekend and hardly had enough rest from the last week ..PLUS the change of weather?

Whatever it is...I don't think I'm gonna risk eating Cheesy Fries anymore!!

It sucks to be sick.

Remake of November 7,8,9

I had to delete the last post I made of the retreat because it messed up the whole "html" thingiemajig...so Now I'm just gonna post the pictures....

Lunch Time

I'm kind of...No...I am broke...so instead of paying 50 baht for lunch I walk out of the school gate and take a 1 minute walk down the soi to a noodle stall. I order Kweteao Nam sen lek sai kai (small noodles with soup and water) I don't usually order haeng(dry) noodles. I also got cha yen (my mostest favrotiest drink!) The guy sells his drinks a few meters from the kweteao guy. So I spend 25 baht for the delcious and filling noodles and 12 baht for the cha yen. De-li-cious-a!

Anyways, I felt like a zombie today. I was sooo tired because I slept really late last night. I got back around 8.30 from hanging with friends after the retreat and then I talked to Bayu and slept like way late because I was excited! I mean I was excited about the retreat...that already happened...hmmm...hahaha.

I was so tempted to call in sick. But that's not me. Although at one point my partner teacher said I should just go back home. I made such a bad example to the kids today being all sleepy! I made it through the day but had to take panadol when I got home and took a nap and just got up. I feel much better now.

Nothing related to lunch but took this on the way back to school
