In Advance

Yesterday i got Bayu his early birthday present it was a few things he has always wanted for his hobby/love of model kits.

Today I gave him his early birthday surprise. Hahaha. Basically, I bought a small table and made a corner in our house just for him to work on his hobby.

It is also the same room where he does his work. I told him this is his part of the house and he is allowed to make it loom like a tornado passed through. :P

He deserves his destressers too! Lol.

I also did total house cleaning so now I'm exhausted.

Gnyt!

Oh yeah all the newspapers are there because a big part of the model kit is to paint it. We are renting the house so we need to prevent leaving any permanent marks.

Ladida

Another day. Feeling exhausted. One of those days where things that could go wrong went wrong. But sometimes you just got to not take it personally and just make the best of the situation.

So instead of ending the day on a gloomy note I convinced Bayu to meet me after work and I bought him his birthday present like a month in advance. Haha.

Did some eating and shopping myself. Can't believe next weekend I'll be in Bangkok. I need to start making a list of the things I need to bring over (and getting those things) as well as a mental list of what I want to do and eat when I get there.

Time flies! And I really got to get serious about training for my half marathon. Cannot slack!

It's going to be march can you believe?

Time flies and money flies too LOL.

Have a good week! Stay positive :D

My dinner from soup spoon. Thai chicken vermicelli salad. Whatever that is LoL. Tastes good though. I think it's supposed to be yum woon sen.

Accomplishment of my lifetime

I actually did it! I ran a 10k!

I finished in 1hr 20mins. My goal was to run/jog without walking and to finish no later than 1hr 30mins! Which i did . So I am proud of myself.

Bayu and I crossed the finish line together holding hands raised in victory. Hahaha. There was an official photographer so hopefully we will get to see that picture.

It really is so different running in a race and running on my own. The following quote may give you a little idea:

"there is something about the ritual of the race - putting on the number, lining up, being timed - that brings out the best in us." - Grete Waitz

There were a few thousand people there and it was just so exciting to see other people there for the same purpose.

I had fun checking out what shoes people were wearing hehe.

Running a long distance race is really not about winning somebody else but winning your own race against yourself and your mind, taking one breath and one step at a time

The weird/cool thing I noticed was that when running, you are with a huuuuge crowd of people but it's so quiet and you can just hear shoes against the pavement and people breathing. Everyone is really focused and in the zone.

It was just a wonderful experience. It was also really hot. We ran at 8.15 and I only train in the evenings so I wasn't used to that.

Well, those were my thoughts and feelings. I really never imagined I would enjoy long distance running.

I don't even know if this can be added to my "never say never" list because in the first place I never imagined it because it was beyond imagination!

Well, enough babbling. Here are some pictures: frank was with us too so that made it even more fun.

I didn't get any pictures during the run even though the view was really nice.

Oh yeah I was so excited and so happy with my accomplishment I rank it at the top with my wedding and graduation (or maybe I'm just crazy from runners high lol). I couldn't sleep last night too excited.

And the response on Facebook was really overwhelming and loving :)

Fingers crossed!

Sorry I was so busy today couldn't chat with anyone!

Tomorrow is my long awaited day!!!

Wish me luck!

Weeeekeeenndd!!!

Hurray! Friday! I just need a break.

I finally posted on my "Repose" blog. Still working on the look but couldnt wait to blog on there.

Today I went on the excursion with K2 children. From 8am to 2pm and no lunch break because I gotta baby sit them and make sure they eat! Haha

At 2-2.30 I had to help another class because the teacher wasn't around. (Nursery class)

Then 2.30-5.00 I helped the pre-nursery class because the teacher wasnt around either.

After, from 5-5.30 I had to finish up my own work like updating our school website and school Facebook.

Then went straight to meet Bayu (did some shopping as I mentioned in my other blog). Having dinner now and then care group at Maranatha church.

I could've gone home and taken a rest but I enjoy accompanying Bayu :)

Had a blessed Sabbath everyone. God loves you and i do too!

Pre -planning

My first 10k race is this coming Sunday Morning! I'm sure this blog is aware of that I've been talking about it since forever.

Well, I've been making sure I have been hydrating myself all week as well as eating healthy proper meals.

I need to have a good dinner the night before the race and a light but healthy breakfast the morning of. So I need to plan what I'm going to eat. It mustn't be something new but something my stomach is already used to.

I also need to plan what to wear :D

I actually don't have much to blog on. Everything is as usual. As usual as it gets in this imperfect world.

Hmmm maybe I have some more running quotes to share since the above may not be so interesting :)

Looking Forward

Next month is my sister's birthday, bayu's birthday and my dad's birthday. What should I do or get for them???

Also, I'll be in Bangkok for a few days next march. I'm super super excited!!! It's been too long :)

Life's not getting easier but I'm glad I can face each day because I have a big awesome God.

Oh yeah I have reached my 2 year mark in Seventh-day Adventist Kindergarten.

I have learnt so much and grown from it there were so many things I didn't know why I had to go through but looking back I wouldn't know what I know and do what I do and think like I think if it weren't for those experiences. I can really see God's leading and am truly sorry for doubting him during times I didn't "feel" him in certain situations.

One thing I have really grown to do in my work place is to love children. I love and adore them! I am blessed to play an important role to teach them And I pray I can be my best for them.

I'm going to be 26 this year and Bayu 28 next month...maybe time for our own kids? Hehhehee.

Maybe end of this year or sometime next year. I think I still need to learn so more and develop a better character to raise up a child.

Yep, my thoughts for today!

Some Day!

Bayu and I were walking around and we decided to check out this Mediterranean restaurant we came across.

It's like the ones where you get a card before the entrance, choose your food from the different stalls, and pay when you exit. All Mediterranean food and it looks yummy!

I posted this because I want to bring my family here some time. This is really what we love to do. Eat together. Haha. Here are some pictures.

It's located at Orchard Central B2 level. We didn't eat there we went to a cheaper place where I ate smoke salmon sandwich :)

Blogryday

I am really enjoying blogging everyday.  It has became part of my life!  I can't see not blogging and I know I won't regret when I look back at these posts.  I was just looking back at my older posts and I enjoyed it so much and I just wished I had written more haha..

So far blogging everyday makes me see the positive things in my life.  Instead of thinking it's just another day it makes me see that this day is a gift from God to me and I should cherish and enjoy it and remember it!

I was also looking at my other blog which is linked at the top of this site.  I think I will revive it.  Not like with my personal blog but now I will think not forget to put some stuff in there now and then.  I have changed it from just being a beauty blog about makeup and beauty but I will add stuff to do with cooking, food, running and healthy habits, etc.  If I ever do post anything there I would mention it in this post.  For now I've got some ideas in my head on what to post about...

Oh and my sister Hazel has this really cool and interesting post about reusing scrap paper!  I would like to learn more and teach others here like my colleagues because Singaporeans are really conscious about the 3Rs Reduce, Reuse, Recycle...ahhaha

Check out her post ----> Hazel's Post

My Monday is almost over! Yay...but have so much work to do :( booo...heheheh

Race Pack Collection!

This coming Sunday is my 10k race. I'm so excited. It will be my first time to join a race.

Here is how it goes:

Sign up online and receive a confirmation slip

A week before the race we bring this slip with our identification card to pick up our race pack.

This is at Velocity. Photo credit to My Running Addiction. You show your slip and card and receive. A shirt, the bib and running route/ map and rules/procedures.

The shirt you can wear on the race day it's up to you. But you must pin the bib to the front of your shirt. The 2 strips of paper behind the bib at the sides are the time trackers. It will record your race time.

Once you complete the race you get a finisher's T-shirt, a goodie bag and a medal. That I can only show you next week.

Hehhehee. I'm super psyched!

18 February 2012

Buffet!

We went with 35 church members and friends to eat at an Indian buffet recommended by Bayu and I and organized by the social committee. Good food and good company. We love God and we love food. :D

17 February 2012

Friday!

The weekend is here!!

Nothing much to blog about. Went on an excursion with the kids and it was fun but tiring. I love kids! I'm so glad I'm a teacher. :P

Just Go For It

Hi guys. Lately, the past day or 2, been feeling really down and homesick and a little depressed. Most likely due to PMS ... Lol.

It was in my schedule to go running today and I just didn't feel like it. I almost decided to just lie in bed in self-pity. But every time such thoughts come into my mind on days I'm suppose to run this line comes into my head -

you either feel sore tomorrow or sorry tomorrow... You choose.

So. I chose to be sore tomorrow and boy was I glad I did. This isn't the first time at all where I was feeling down and after a run my spirits were lifted. Not like suddenly all my problems are gone but now I can face them with a smile (and with God's strength!)

Here are two running quotes that totally applied to me tonight :P

14 February 2012

Bomb

As you can read on Facebook at the moment news is going around about the suicide bomber in Bangkok. The thing is the place that the bomb went off is like a 10 minute walk from my house. I passed there all the time, my family friends everyone who lives there passes there everyday. That's where I passed to and from work. I know that place like the back of my hands. That is so close to home.

I wasn't having the best of days and since Bayu doesn't really celebrate anything (because everyday is a celebration for him lol) much less valentines day I wasn't expecting anything but when I got home I was utterly surprised.

There on the table were my favorite snacks (seaweed and granola bars) with Adventist Champagne, champagne glass and mangosteine! The mangosteine because he always feeds me the mangosteine. Hehehe.

I gave him a biiiiig hug and cried tears of joy surprise and happiness. Hahaha.

We just drank the juice ate a whole lack of seaweed and just got feed the mangosteine. Now we are going on our valentine run. Nahhhh. Just another run on valentines day hahahahha.

How to spell mangosteine ???? I know that is wrong..... :D

Kiddie Ideas

Some pictures of my colleagues and their projects they did with their kids whom I also teach computer to:

This is done by the pre-nursery children (I don't teach them computer but I know them well).
Get a sponge dip it in red paint let the kids pain with the sponge in a circular motion after showing them an apple.

This is done by K1 children. They are learning about well teeth, hygiene, dentists. Here get old toothbrush and white paint. Let the children dip the toothbrush into the white paint and let them "brush" their teeth/tooth! Add silver glitter because it's sparkling clean. Hehhe.

The K2 children are learning about sea animals. And this is their cooking project. The white marshmallow with the long jelly candy is the jellyfish, you can see the sand, fish and star crackers and the triangle gummy candy is supposed to be a fish too all on a slice of bread. It's wrapped in cling wrap and the kids get to bring it home.
How fun!

Another Day!

Just another day. But despite it not being as eventful as other days it was still a lovely day.

I ate brunch with Bayu at a Thai restaurant. Walked the stretch of orchard road and did some window shopping them came home and did a few house chores.

Now we just got back from our run. Sweat sweat sweat. I love sweat. Haha.

Also, I just wanted to share that asides from currently reading the Desire of Ages book I am also reading the devotion That I May Know Him.

Somehow I am so drawn to these books because I really get to know more about who Jesus is and what he is like. There really is no such thing as knowing everything or knowing enough. I discover something new each day and I am in awe of Him each day! yes I have "lived" with the Bible all my life but there is still so much treasure to be revealed...

Really I cannot keep the joy inside I must share it! Haha. I think from now on I need to jot down the things I have discovered or never realized and share it here.

Well here are the pics (my hair aftwr te run is a disaster check it out lol) and lets all try to have a good week. Especially Monday. :P

11 February 2012

Goodnight

It's late and I'm sleepy. Just got back from a full day of activities...ending with badminton :)

Looking forward to another week. Just not the waking up early part.

In 2 weeks I'll be running my first race!

Thank you God for this day.

Titanic Day

Finally the app is working! And now I can publish the post I wrote around 2 weeks ago:...here it : :)
Sorry though..I don't know why the pictures are so blurry...:(

A small bunch of us from church went to the Titanic artifacts exhibition museum. It's going to be around for a few more weeks I think.

At the entrance we get a "boarding pass" with a real passengers name and details.

I was a Miss Dagmar Jenny Ingeborg Bryhl age 20 from Sweden. I was accompanied by brother and fiancé (their names are given on the pass). I was a 2nd class passenger.

At the end of the exhibition there were the list of names for those from the different classes who survived or lost their lives. So basically I am the passenger and at the end I get to see if I survived.
From left to right the picture above shows the list of names by 1st class, 2nd class, 3rd class & Crew. The top half are those that survived and the bottom half those who didn't make it.
I made it unfortunately my brother and fiancé didn't make it.

It was fun, fascinating, but also sad.
After that we took some pictures and ate! We were starving.

We ate at MOF - Ministry of Food
:)
