Irony?

Funny how when something fun or good happens here today, by the end of tomorrow it's going to feel like it happened years ago.

My sis at home in Bkk just asked me in singapore to whatsapp Richmond who is in the next Room in Bkk to go see her my sister in their room ...nice.

My Daddy!

Chatted with my Dad tonight. He will be traveling in the Philippines for a few weeks to visit his sick sister relatives.

Take care dad!

Love and miss you :)

He was chatting and relaxing nicely with me while my mom was hecticly packing his stuff haha.

Supermarkets!

Anywhere I go- country, province, town or whatever I love to drop by the supermarkets!

That's what I did with Bayu when we went to Holland Village this evening. The supermarket was Cold Storage which is the western food in the westerners part of Singapore hehe.

Took some pictures of the products that interested me!

Like they have hummus, avocado, guacamole, interesting milk shake, Starbucks etc. haha.

Love love love supermarkets somehow! Am I the only one??

I walked every aisle. Fun!

Bakery Shop

In Holland Village they have a huge bakery shop or a place they sell all the baking stuff actually haha.

I went there just because my sister really loves baking. Just imagining she was there and took some pictures to show her coz she would love it for sure. Haha.

It's so much easier to come to Holland Village now because they have the new train stations passing by.

Holland

The road we went to eat at tonight was in Holland Village. A place where most foreigners gather in Singapore. It's kinda the high end place as well. It's a road by day but restaurants put out their tables by night and roads are blocked.

Condiments

What makes the Lebanese restaurant in Thailand super awesome is their condiments.

They don't have it here but the food is still super awesome so it kinda compensates.

Lebanese Mediterranean Food

Bayu and I went on an impromptu date to eat the title of this blog. Haha

We had some in thailand and its healthy and yummy! Of course with the price we paid for 2 tonight we could have paid for 4 with more food haha but it's good the food was good so it was worth it!

It was ladies night so my drink was free!

Fleeting Thoughts

I woke up in the middle of the night and suddenly these thoughts and memories just rushed back to me:

I miss hearing the sound of the rain hitting the roof and the pavement.
I miss the sound of the rustling leaves on windy days and birds chirping early in the morning.
I miss the sound of familiar voices and sounds like our neigbours playing outside.  The adults laughing and conversing on the road.
I miss the honk of the car saying "let's go!"
I miss opening the knocks of doors to find familiar faces and entering the house just to spend time and have a little conversation.

So Me!

I have been having fun pinning in my boards in pinterest. It's really fun! I came across this picture and it's so me! I love it hahaha.

Rest Days

I did make the right but painful choice of not running today. I'm pretty sure if I ran I would have collapsed. I am still so sick. I went to the doctor and got tons of Medecine. Actually, it's Medecine for the cough I had weeks almost months ago. It has turned pretty serious.

My doctor said it is good I didn't run as it could reach the heart. I won't be going to work tomorrow and my medecines are making me so drowsy anywyas. The doctor said I should also rest for 2 weeks from running :(

Bayu made me his specialty indo dish. I am the luckiest girl to have married an Indonesian guy who can cook - especially for the sick hahaha.

Disappointment

As you all know I have been training for my 21k. In fact I already planned and bought my meals before my run I know what I was going to wear everything planned.

Then yesterday I got sick. Fever, sore throat and aching body. I didn't go to church and rested all day.

I thought I'm feeling well and will be able to run tomorrow but my friends and family are suggesting I don't go. My 6th sense is also telling me not to run. I don't feel 100% and it is just one run. I can always join another .

Better safe than sorry right?

Yes I'm disappointed but I know it's the right choice and I will continue to train and I know i will do well on my next race :)

-_-

I know on Sunday I will have moments where I'm going to question myself. I know in long runs like this it's not really about the body but about the mind.

My mantra will have to be:

New Record

I was doing my warm up and last run before my big and long run this Sunday and without planning it I broke my own 5k record.

Not bad before a run I'm so nervous about!

My Condolences

I didn't post yesterday because of a sad and tragic news we heard. Our friend who was one of our groomsmen on our wedding and bayu's classmate in college - his wife passed away.

He and his daughter and their family is in my thoughts and prayers.

This is a picture taken during our wedding. He, Kungwal, is on the very right with his daughter in front of him and his wife is sitting down in the centre.

Oh Lord....

S'mores finally!

I wrote a post on smores a few weeks back and finally I have the ingredients to make it!

I melted the chocolate in the oven but I left it in there too long ( supposed to be just a few seconds) so it was too runny.

I used the stove to melt the mallows. You have to put it pretty high from the fire or it burns up. You know its ready when you poke it and it's really soft (melted inside but not outside).

It was a messy snack but so yummy!

Ingredients:
Chocolate (flat shaped)
Biscuits
Marshmallows

Melt chocolate in the oven (optional)
Toast the mallows
Lay it over the chocolate

Please refer to photos that are not arranged in order. :)

Not Healthy But Healthier

Made myself some dinner as a stress relief :) yes Bayu is normally the cook of the house.

I found a recipe on YouTube by robjnixon which is home made chicken nuggets. It has a twist to it - the bread crumbs are replaced with crushed potato chips muahahahhaha

Ingredients are:
Egg and a little milk for the egg wash
Plain flour
Thin potato chips crushed to teenie bits (I used lay's sour cream and onion flavor)
Diced chicken breast
Oil

Roll the chicken in the flour dip it in te egg wash and then roll it in the crushed chips. Deep fry it until golden brown and enjoy!

I ate mine with salad and Japanese sesame dressing and some chili sauce.

Anticipation

I've been training for the 21k this coming Sunday for the last 3 months. My final long training or long run was today.

I'm happy I made it this far and look forward to next week but I'm also nervous. I really hope I can make it!

I'm really tired from today how much more next week? Sometimes I wonder what am I doing???

I need to sleep goodnight!

My little bro

RJ and his older brother and younger brother were my neighbors for many many years.

They became more than neighbors and just like brothers. First little annoying brothers then close friends/brothers.

I wish I had more time with the other brothers but I had more memories with RJ :)

We had lots of laughter and outings and eatings and just being silly.

He always knew the words to encourage me and make feel happy again.

Today I was feeling down and I remembered how in these situations he would laugh and tell me I'm beautiful. Hahaha.

Because there used to be times I didn't go to church because my pimples were so bad and I just felt miserable.

Today was just like that (but I went to church) and well I just remembered him and I miss him.

He is taking nursing in the Philippines but is back on holiday in Bkk and hazel gets to see him and spend time with him. How lucky!

30!

Happy Birthday to Andy. No longer in his twenties.

I can laugh now but my turn will come soon. Hahha.

Sharing My Morning Devotion

EGW Devotional: Our Father Cares
Time for Meditation
April 11

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalm 1:2. – {OFC 98.2}

Your last thought at night, your first thought in the morning, should be of Him in whom is centered your hope of eternal life. – {OFC 98.3}

Many seem to begrudge moments spent in meditation, and the searching of the Scriptures, and prayer, as though the time thus occupied was lost. I wish you could all view these things in the light God would have you; for you would then make the kingdom of heaven of the first importance.... As exercise increases the appetite, and gives strength and healthy vigor to the body, so will devotional exercises bring an increase of grace and spiritual vigor. – {OFC 98.4}

The affections should center upon God. Contemplate His greatness, His mercy and excellences. Let His goodness and love and perfection of character captivate your heart. Converse upon His divine charms, and the heavenly mansions He is preparing for the faithful. He whose conversation is in heaven, is the most profitable Christian to all around him. His words are useful and refreshing. They have a transforming power upon those who hear them. – {OFC 98.5}

There is constant need of private communion with God. We must take in the spirit of Christ if we would impart it to others. We cannot meet satanic and human agencies combined unless we spend much time in intercourse with the Source of all strength. There are times when we should get away from the sounds of earthly toil and human voices, and in retired places listen to the voice of Jesus. Thus we may taste of His love and imbibe His spirit. Thus we shall learn to crucify self. This course of action may seem impossible to the human mind. “I have not time,” you may say. But when you consider the matter as it really is, you lose no time; for when you secure the power and grace that come alone from God, you do not accomplish the work. It is Jesus who is the real worker. “Without me,” says Christ, “ye can do nothing.” John 15:5.... Reflection and earnest prayer will inspire to holy endeavor. – {OFC 98.6}

25

Today my work place celebrated it's 25th anniversary or Founding Day.

To celebrate we had sports day with the kids. Full, tiring day. But fun.

And it's a holiday tomorrow. Yay!

Cool to think God used people to open this school so that 25 years later I'll be working here?? Hehehe
