Sooo Stressseed HUHUHUHU

Ok...that list of things I need to finish?...well I'm done yet but even if I am it's only the tip of the iceberg of all the other stuff I've gotta do.  It's like while working on one thing 10 more things come to me to be done.

I'm tired and I can't wait for my school break to come soon.  There's only so much one can handle.

Oh God help me!

Ok, I think I'm going to arrange my make up and put some one for tonight's church program. =D

Old, Tired Teacher

Can you imagine have to keep an eye on a whole class of children in a 3 storey play ground?  With around 150 other children also playing AND wearing the same uniform as your kids?!

Yep, my as I mentioned my school went on an excursion.  I had to make sure my kids were safe, that they didn't wander off out of sight without me and that they didn't get trampled to death among the older, bigger kids also playing around.

I played with them climbing, up down, crawling through, under and over...then going down the slide with "one more time teacher! one more time teacher!" how could I resist?  One more time we went, and then another one more and another one more until there must've been a hundred one mores.

They are nursery kids so we've gotta stick close together and keep an eye on them.  For the older kids the teachers just let them run about wherever they liked...how nice. =P

Finally, toilet break, drink break and eating time then going home.  All this 2 days in a row.  I am sooooo exhausted.

FYI, I don't think I can go on a roller coaster anymore.  I'm probably to old for that.  I mean a 3 storey slide makes me so dizzy....dizzzzzzzyyyy...

My kids didn't go on the 3 storey slide they went on the kiddie ones where it just goes straight down with one bump.  I tried the 3 storey slide while they were eating and I told the kids I would go to the toilet but I went to slide down instead =D  Of course I left them with my co-teacher.

Here are 2 pictures of the playground I took with my handphone:
This is one of the few the slides that is 3 storeys high.

The playground fortress from the outside.

"My Family Portrait"

I asked the kids to draw a picture of their house and their family.  Then I asked them to explain to me what they drew and I wrote it down for them. I also pasted their family picture which they brought from home.  I'm going to put it up for their parents to see when they come for parents meet =)

Just a few pictures for you to admire...

My House & Bats Project

The kids brought cut outs of things found around a house and my co-teacher folded the paper, the kids painted it and pasted the pictures in the different "rooms" of the house...then we hung em' up!

One of their reader books is about a bat...we used tissue rolls and cut out shapes of the body parts of a bat...pasted it and hung them up too!

The kids' reaction when they came in?...wooooow! Hehehe

Almost Done (Halfway there)!

1.  Record Book Comments - write individualized comments for each child (only 40 children) and hand in to my boss this Friday.  The last time I worked on this I slept at 1a.m. and got sick for 5 weeks.

Miniscule Update

I've been writing quite a bit but not putting up many pictures.  I have taken quite a number of pictures of the work of my kids but will probably put it up once I'm done with all my work (when?!)...It's really cute stuff!

Well, I've gotten back my momentum and not the slacker I was for the past 2 weeks.  I mean, once a procrastinator always a procrastinator (right?).  My momentum is back because it's almost the deadline and I thrive on last minute work (somehow!....tsk tsk)!

Laterz.

=( Boohoohoo

I HATE MONDAYS!!!

I just had to shout that out.

I'm praying for myself I still have so much work to do!

Have a nice day everyone.

For breakfast today: 2 Yam Paus and one cup of hot soy milk I bought at the Jurong East MRT.

We all need a good breakfast (well, mine isn't that healthy/filling as it should be) to survive our day!

24 October 2010

Thankful!

Hi you all!

I just updated my other blog .  It's about nail polish this time =)

I also mentioned that I am allowed to wear nail polish to work.  Those of you working in our denomination know that staff are not allowed to, but here in Singapore even though I work in an SDA school we are still allowed to wear nail polish!

We are also allowed to dress up really casually.  It was so shocking to my mom how casual we could dress haha.  We can wear jeans and normal shirts even.  I like it because I don't have to think so hard about what I'm going to wear and it's also really easy to play with the kids in comfy clothes.  Of course I still need to be presentable!

It's almost the end of Sunday already!  And I haven't done any work yet.  I'm still looking forward to this week though because it's another week closer to the holidays.  And we're having our excursions.  We're bringing the kids to a 3 story play ground and teachers are allowed to play too! Yay!

VIP
Rochael is starting work tomorrow - will pray for you Roch! You can do it!
Pappu and Dollie is going through a tough time - they're in my prayers.
And other friends too....I'm praying for you!

lersleisure

Hey you guys!

I just created a new blog

http://lersleisure.blogspot.com/

It's mainly going to be about my [not really] new found passion..makeup..muahaha...

I only put up 2 posts which I already put on this blog about my broken eyeshadow and the eye primer.  After this I'm going to post up an introduction or something...

Since it's so girlie and not everyone's interest I'll just announce on this blog any time I update it or add something new and those who are interested can then go check it out. =D

The rest will be as usual...my random thoughts and complaints and pictures of my everyday life.

22 October 2010

What would happen if kids were teachers?

I had this random activity to let my students do.  It kinda just came to me to try it out.

I sat on the floor with my kids and I let my kids go one by one and sit on the teacher's chair and pretend to be a teacher.

We would ask the child acting as a teacher what he/she would teach us and the funniest but not surprising thing was that each one of them answered it something like this:

Students and I:  Teacher, teacher what will you teach us today?
Student acting as a teacher:  Games.  We are going to play games today.

It made me LOL.  Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't have to teach kids lessons but just let them out and play ALLLL day long?? HAHa...I bet that's every kids dream =)

Uh-Oh

I'm having my 20 minute lunch break now.  This past week I really needed a break in between so I've been using 10 minutes to go online and  10 minutes to gobble down my food.

It's a pretty stressful and tiring day.  One of those really down days where I just wish I could just quit what I'm doing.  But life doesn't work that way.  I'll be nowhere if I just quit when I feel like it.

I know this day will become tomorrow and I will look back and say that it wasn't that bad and I was able to get through it.

No details but some people know jus the right things to say to make you feel worthless sometimes.

Anyways, I'm really happy I found a blogger who sells makeup stuff that can't be found in singapore and she is based in Singapore, sells in Singapor dollars at a really good price!  I'm so excited about it!

I'm also looking for matte face powder thinking between rimmel and other drugstore brands here in S'pore...can't wait til' work is over then I can drop by and check out some products....I'm into matte products now coz of my oily skin...

Uh-oh....stress = shopping is not a good combination! HAHA

*PANICK MODE*PANICK MODE*PANICK MODE*

I knew I had a "couple" of "major" things to do and decided to list them down so that I would know which one to work on first and when it was due.

1.  Record Book Comments - write individualized comments for each child (only 40 children) and hand in to my boss this Friday.  The last time I worked on this I slept at 1a.m. and got sick for 5 weeks.

2.  I have to make a powerpoint for the school orientation - due 2 weeks ago!

6.  I need to make a powerpoint on kindness to present to the whole school (due next week!)

7.  I need to work on the classroom bulletins/displays and put up the children's work ASAP!

.....I Just wasted 10 minutes tell you all this!!!!

*PANICK MODE*PANICK MODE*PANICK MODE*PANICK MODE*

Patterns!

A few weeks back I was teaching my kids about patterns.  This is an activity/worksheet I let them do.  I got the idea from prekinders.com

On the top row I cut out shapes and let them make patterns by shape.
In the middle row I let them choose two colors they like and make patterns by color.
On the third I had a box of animal stamps which they could choose from and they made patterns from those stamps....Of course they loved stamping most of all.

I hung it up to let the glue dry =)

In 30 Days

I hate weeks that have no holiday/events to look forward to =P

Las week and this week are full weeks and now I'm feeling down in the dumps.

In exactly 30 days I'll be on vacation and I CANNOT WAIT.

Im out 12 hours a day and by the time I get home I'm so exhausted and I just wanna have some downtime and just time for myself which makes me end up sleeping late.  And I'm so grumpy this morning coz I've been sleeping late for so many weeks in a row and all I want to do is JUST SLEEP!

Right now I feel like I just wanna get out of here!!!

I'm feeling so ngut ngit and I just want to complain and complain and complain but I won't.  I will write this blog and then I will change my mind set so that I won't be thinking ungrateful thoughts which I'm sure will help my kids (students) and I to have a better day.

Full House

On Saturday night we invited our church youth to come over to our house and celebrate the birthday of those born in the month of October.

We ate pizza, fries, chicken popcorn, swensen's icecream cake, drinks...Played Dance Dance Revolution and Ravign Rabbids on Wii...Monopoly and just hanging out.

We started off with 18 in our narrow house and ended with my parents and youth's parents joining us as they got back from their dinner together.

I had lots of fun!  When people ask when we are going to have kids we just say our children are the Chuan Hoe Youth!

Church Prep

Good morning!

Bayu and I (and my parents who are leaving this Monday laready..T_T) are eating breakfast and gotta leave the house at 9.  I told my mom we gotta leave the house at 9 not be ready at 9....I think there is a difference haha.

I woke up at 7 and my mom finished making breakfast and was curling her hair. I took off my nail polish and redid it and also did  my mom's toe nails.

Tonight we are going to have a birthday celebration at our home.  The youth have 3 birthdays this month so we're celebrating with them together.

Yeah, Last night Yuli dropped by my place...I was sooo happy to see her.  She brings back good memories of my life in Singapore =)

Ok gotta finish my meal, take a bath and put on makeup!

T is for Teacher

Heyyy I'm so tired...so so so tired...

Anyways, It's Friday already!  Yay! Because It's another week closer to my long-awaited holiday...But yet another week closer until my parents leave ='(...It's also another week closer to all my deadlines!!!!!! Ahhhhh...

On another note...I love teaching liiitle kids.  The simplest things fascinate them!  After they do their show and tell, I do a show and tell to them.  I show them my chapstick, fedex box, bubble wrap and they are so intrigued!

Oh the sweet, pure innocence of children!

13 October 2010

Seriously, Never Say Never

Some time 2 years ago I made a short list of things I said I'd never do or would never happen to me but they DID.

I just want to add 2 more to that list:

  • I'll never be a kindergarten teacher.
  • I'll never be a computer teacher! (or have anything to do with IT)
I soo have a feeling that this list does not end here....

12 October 2010

Uphill- Downhill

I looked at my blog archive and realized that it told a story about my life! Hehe...

You can tell when I was uphill and down hill by the number of posts I entered each month...

You can also tell when things were downhill for me during the fewer entries AND the months I didn't enter anything.

The bottom month (September) is the month I entered my first post.

2008 October(55 posts), November (45 posts) and December (30) posts was the time of my life!  I loved my job and I was getting married! =D

2009 January (21), February (6), March (6), April (9), May (5) and June (1) I was just trying to keep my blog alive entering things just to make it seem like I was "ok" and telling the world I was still alive!  In June I wrote one entry and that was to talk about my Father-in-law's death.

11 months later -

May 2010 (16) My blog posts started coming because I got a stable job, my parents came to visit....and a glimmer of my positive self was coming out! June (14) I believe all posts this month were about my trip back home toBKK..ha! July (7) My posts were about my work. 2 months (August & September) of no blog action because I've been so busy with work!

Now the months of October 12 days into the month and this is my 11th post.  Could it be that it's because my parents are here and that's why I'm happy and blogging?  Seems like a pattern.  But I honestly do feel that I view things in a more positive light than before ...

and I honestly enjoy writing here and don't want it to stop!

P.S.  Thanks Bayu for sticking by my side through thick and thin.  I actually don't remember your vow to me on our wedding day but actions speak louder than words and you have more than kept your vows...so far...MUAHAHAHA.

A Puretty Long Way

Well, I've been thinking about my life and where it has led me so far.

This December I'll be 2 years in Singapore.

I can still remember clearly that day when I had to leave Thailand and move to Singapore.  When it suddenly hit me that I would be leaving the people/family I love and the only country and home I know.

It was such a painful feeling that I believe it's only by God's providence that I've been able to cope and move on with my new life here.

I believe I was clinically depressed didn't know when or how I would come out of it.  I guess I can say it takes almost 2 years to come out of it =)

I can't say life is suddenly wonderful and I'm really HAPPY...in fact I've never been so stressed or tired so far in my life!....and not to mention deprived of social life/friends...BUT I guess I've learnt to get used to it and accept where I am in life and look for and enjoy the good things that do come my way.

I could look at all the negative things around me/happening to me but what good would that do me?

As my parents said "Life changes".  Looking at their lives it is so true!

So I aim to be content of my present situation, grateful for my past and hopeful of the future because I have a God who has been with me, is with me and will always be with me.

11 October 2010

Mondayitis

I'm having a serious case of Monday blues today...

Sighhhhh.

I can't wait until November 19 comes which is the last day or school and the beginning of holidays for me.

The past 4 weeks of school I've had holidays of half days every week but for the next 2 weeks there is no holiday or event to look forward to.

Lately to get me through each day or week I look forward to an event that is close buy whcih helps time pass by a little faster to November.

...yes sometimes I am a complainer. I am a typical Old Testament Israelite...

Sometimes I'm just so stressed and tired and life in Singapore can get pretty....I dunno...=P

Ok now setting my goal to look forward to the end of this day!

School Concert Pics

I can't believe the long awaited school concert is over.

It was wonderful I had so much fun and so did the kids!  They did so well and I was so proud of them.  It was great meeting their parents as well.

I cropped out my kids faces as this is a public blog but I want to show you their costumes...the theme was International Night.  The British soldiers (red & yellow) costume I had to design and work with a tailor but the Korean costumes (pink, orange, blue) I got at a shop in Chinatown.  I had to go back to that shop like a million times!

Night 1:
I wore a Filipino costume which is just that see through top I just put over and a black skirt.

Night 2:

Feast!

My parents are here!

They were delayed 3 hours but It was worth the wait.

I'm always happy to have the presence of family at home with Bayu and I.

We are blessed to have both our families come and visit us and hope this continues =)

So for dinner had durian, lansones, sticky rice, fried fish, fried chicken and MK duck noodles!

The next 10 days are going to fly by!

School Concert

Wednesday already!

Tonight and tomorrow night my we will be having our school concert.  It's basically the biggest program of the year because, well, it's the only big program and it's the graduation of the K2ers =)

It's my first time to join the school concert but I've been told what to expect.  Ok let me back track so our concert is this term, term 4.  The kids have been practicing and practicing since term 2.

I have to choreograph the dance moves, design the costumes and get the props.

So I teach the dance moves to my 3-4 year olds. It's not really dance moves more like hand and feet movement and walking in a circle.

The thing is these kids get distracted reaaallly easily and the decorations that night are glittering stars, "christmas" lights, there's going to be cameras flashing and the projector on display...recipe for distraction.

I'll be sitting at the front bench where I'm supposed to guide them and they follow the dance moves but with all the distractions....i've been told to expect kids to just stop in their steps and stare everywhere except at me...haha...we'll see!

The theme is International Costumes so us teacher's have to wear international costumes.  I'm going to wear a filipino top tonight and a Thai dress tomorrow.  Will put pictures up after of course.

The kids are doing 2 songs: This is my Father's World (Korean theme aka korean dresses and fans for props) and Rejoice in the Lord Always (English soldiers costume).

The concert is 2 nights because I teach 2 classes.  And both nights have the same costume theme but in different colours...ooh I'm excited to take pictures and put them up!

Ok, I'm nervous and excited.

Laterzzzzzzz

03 October 2010

I "baked" a Diaper Cake!

I've been planning (with the help of good friends) for Doca's baby shower and it finally happened!

All went well without any disasters (major disasters).

Here is the gift from Bayu and I.  It was pretty easy to assemble! It was my first time and I was kinda nervous but it turned out just great.  I loved it!  Even though it wasn't for me haha.

Basically it's made from rolled up diapers wrapped around in ribbons and decorated with baby stuff.  All put together to look like a cake (a 3 tiered one at that!)

Not as simple to make as it looks!  But if I can do it anybody can...trust me!
Close up =)

02 October 2010

Full Day

I woke up at 8 did my business, showered, changed, ate, put on make up, grabbed my bag and went to church.

Bayu preached, we had communion and testimony/sharing time.  I went up without planning to and gave a little talk about how thankful I am =)

We had our Sabbath School lesson and a delicious lunch.  After that Bayu had several meetings in a row until 5 pm and I hung out with the youth all afternoon.  Then when I fell asleep for a while Bayu came in.  We chithcatted with the youth a little more.  Then we all departed.

Except that Jerome, Aunti Annie,  Uncle Seah Ho, Bayu and I went to Pasir Ris to eat at some japanese/western vegetarian restaurant.  It was good for the vegetarians. Hahah.. I was totally starving so it was good for me too.

Came back and did my dance dance revolution for 45 minutes since it was late already.  I've been doing it several days in a row now!  So proud of myself.  Not as tired now as the first night but my muscles are still aching.

Well, tomorrow is the long awaited baby shower!  Hope all goes well.  Gotta sleep coz it just might be a long day.

Nyt nyt!

Catching Up

Hello my dear blog!

Yes, once again I am attempting to revive my blog.

I was like I don't have any pictures to post but then I started to read through my previous blogs posts and I realized that I used to write more than putting up pictures!

So I think I should start that habit of writing and expressing my thoughts. Of course there will still be pictures!

Well, here's a list of what's been up with me lately and what I'm looking forward to.

1. I got a DSLR camera - Nikon D70s ... I'm loving it! But it's pretty confusing.

2. I realized I know so little about the Bible and that it has some really interesting stories and details that were never mentioned growing up in Sabbath School and listening to the same Bible stories over and over again. So I want to read it for myself. I've read Matthew to John and Genesis to Joshua. Now I'm on Judges.

3. I read #2 while waiting for the bus and the train every morning before work and again after work.

4. My train ride is 40 minutes straight so I sleep the whole way.

5. I'm going to be teaching K1 and K2 computer class next school year.

6. I'm back into makeup again! Yay!

7. Yuli is bringing some make up for me.

8. I love make up!

9. I'm more or less out of my depression =0

10. I've started exercising on Wii's Dance Dance Revolution.

11. My parents are coming to visit next Friday for 10 dayS!

12. I've had a migraine 3 times this week =(

13. November 19-21 I'm going to Malaysia for a church retreat

14. November 29 to December 2 I'll be going to Bali for the Mission retreat.

15. December 5-27 I'll be back home in BKK!!!

16. December 27 to Jan 9 Hazel and Richmond will be in Spore!

17. I'll be seeing Elsye next year!

18. Pheap is getting married next year!

19. Ellen is graduating next year!

20. I'll be an aunt next year!

21. This Sunday is Doca's baby shower! I've been planning for it and hope it turns out well (should be pictures on that later)

22.  This morning I woke up from an 18 hour nap...

22. It's really late and I should go to bed...

It was fun catching up!
