My Workout

I made this poster as goal for myself.  I noticed when I do workouts like this it helps me in my running.  At the moment I can do these workouts with lots of breaks in between and not all at once or in the correct position :P  So my goal is to do this on my rest days and cross-training days until I can do all workouts without so many breaks in between and with the correct position/body postures!  Wishing myself luck!

Time to celebrate by running even more!

Today

Today.
I woke up.
I went to work.
I ate.
I taught.
I bought groceries.
I laughed.
I worked out.
I ate fruits.
I relaxed on my sofa.

Today was just an ordinary day.  But because of that I thank God for life.

Sembawang

Went for a run with Bayu. We ran to the park and beach. We usually run that route at night so going there during daylight was like a new experience. :D

Love it!

Bayu gave me a hydration belt and socks for my birthday. they are both from Salomon (brand).

The hydration belt is just great for shorter runs and the socks are running socks with a yellow color that matches my shoes!

Motivation

I need to motivate myself. I have registered for a 21k on September 9. Therefore I am in my training mode :)

The last time I trained and completed all weeks only to get sick the night before lol.

I am posting my picture of my last longest run I motivate me. That I have done some far runs and I can do more.

I also need to find a way to celebrate Bayu and I reaching 500k of training :P

Recount

On my birthdays I like to list down whatever I can remember that happened.

Like what did I do and what did I get etc. I think I havnt done it in forever at least not on this blog where it is easier to look back on. I think I have some in old old journals stashed away somewhere.

Well, I received lots of lovely messages on Facebook.

I talked on the phone with my family.

Bayu gave me a gift and card! And coordinated the celebration dinner at an Indonesian restaurant in far eas plaza.

Orielle, olivine, Andy, Bayu, Gerome, his cute girlfriend, Simon, Terrence, Danetta, Frank and Rochael were there.

I received a hat, nail polish, face masks from Andy, Orielle, Simon and Frank.

Simon gave me 2 boxes of chocolate.

Joyce made a card which everyone at the table signed and she gave me cute hair clips and a cute dog in a cute box.

Bayu gave me some running feat socks and hydration belt. With a sweet card with hearts and a message. His romantic level has improved dramatically. Hahaha.

I received whatsapp messages from friends far and near and friends I don't always hear from like Alvina and Doca.

I also received a bag and sweaters from Ruth and Alex.

Joyce from work gave me lotion and body soap.

Chuen Rong gave me a great book for women about God.

I got a most delicious cheesecake too!

I'm sure I missed some things!

I'm also sure I'm super stuffed and I need to go back to my serious running routine and seriously eating healthy. My one month break has led me astray lol.

Work

Work starts tomorrow again! I'm all recharged. Ready to work! Haha hopefully.

Spent dinner and evening with Simon. Chilling and chit chatting.

We ate at a Thai restaurant then got dessert at Awfully Chocolate. Super chocolaty!

It was a good evening. Tomorrow is my last day to wake up late :P

June!

What an eventful month it has been indeed.

In just a few days work will begin. I could be going back all depressed. But I think I will just go back to work with the mind set that I have been recharged over my break as I am ready to face whatever will come my way.

I know the last 2 terms of this school year will fly. And there will be lots of activities as holidays coming up as well so I can look forward to that too.

I hope to post up my cruise trip pictures tomorrow. :)

Right now I'm on the way to pick up my good friend kessarin. She is on the way to Indonesia and will be staying over for a night. It's only a few hours but I'm really happy and exited. :)

I'm back from such an awesome cruise! I have so many things to share. I plan to upload my pictures on Facebook with descriptions/ explanations for each picture there as there is too much to blog about!

First I need to catch up with my sleep. Maybe tomorrow I can have the pictures up.

Spiritual Relapse...Again?!

This is what I wanted to share with you for quite some time based on my discovery from:
-Matthew 12:43-45
-Desire of Ages ch. 33 by Ellen G. White

I never really understood that passage but after reading DA ch 33 it has given me a better insight and a deeper self-reflection on my part.

In my 26 years of being a Christian there has been a certain pattern of my spiritual journey - up and down.

For me some ups and downs were so extreme. For example, I would be so enthusiastic and gung-ho in church, in activities and feeling so "high" and happy and "close" to God. Then a few weeks later I would feel so down in the dumps and so far from God.

It was so frustrating I just couldn't understand myself! I couldn't wrap my finger around what made me this way.

I prayed sincerely to God to help me see what I was doing wrong and what could I do to avoid such a spiritual downfall.

I was getting to the point where I was thinking "what's the point of trying. What's the point of getting active in my spiritual life when it will all come crumbling down again. "

Then I read the passage in Matthew 12:43-45 and and also the insights from DA Made the passage clearer.

Matthew 12:
43“When an unclean spirit goes out of a person,it passes through waterless places looking for rest but does not find it.
44Then it says, ‘I will return to the home I left.’ When it returns, it finds the house empty, swept clean, and put in order.
45Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there, so the last state of that person is worse than the first. It will be that way for this evil generation as well!”

Desire of Ages:
There were many in Christ’s day, as there are today, over whom the control of Satan for the time seemed broken; through the grace of God they were set free from the evil spirits that had held dominion over the soul. They rejoiced in the love of God; but, like the stony-ground hearers of the parable, they did not abide in His love. They did not surrender themselves to God daily, that Christ might dwell in the heart; and when the evil spirit returned, with “seven other spirits more wicked than himself,” they were wholly dominated by the power of evil. – {DA 323.3}

My Reflction:
Why and how did the evil spirits return? "They did not surrender themselves to God DAILY, that Christ may dwell in their heart."

During my "high" time of my spiritual life did I continue to surrender to God daily? Did I pray, read his word, spend time with him everyday? NO I did not.

Desire of Ages:
When the soul surrenders itself to Christ, a new power takes possession of the new heart. A change is wrought which man can never accomplish for himself. It is a supernatural work, bringing a supernatural element into human nature. The soul that is yielded to Christ becomes His own fortress, which He holds in a revolted world, and He intends that no authority shall be known in it but His own. A soul thus kept in possession by the heavenly agencies is impregnable to the assaults of Satan. But unless we do yield ourselves to the control of Christ, we shall be dominated by the wicked one. We must inevitably be under the control of the one or the other of the two great powers that are contending for the supremacy of the world. It is not necessary for us deliberately to choose the service of the kingdom of darkness in order to come under its dominion. We have only to neglect to ally ourselves with the kingdom of light. If we do not co-operate with the heavenly agencies, Satan will take possession of the heart, and will make it his abiding place. The only defense against evil is the indwelling of Christ in the heart through faith in His righteousness. Unless we become vitally connected with God, we can never resist the unhallowed effects of self-love, self-indulgence, and temptation to sin.

My Reflection:
It's true. I might not purposely choose Satan but when I do not keep that connection with God then I leave room for evil to enter my heart and mind.... Hence the downward spiral! * duh lightbulb moment for me*

Desire of Ages:
We may leave off many bad habits, for the time we may part company with Satan; but without a vital connection with God, through the surrender of ourselves to Him moment by moment, we shall be overcome. Without a personal acquaintance with Christ, and a continual communion, we are at the mercy of the enemy, and shall do his bidding in the end. – {DA 324.1}

I have found the answers to my questions. It's not going to be easy but I want to try my best, only with God's help and strength, to have a continual communion with God.

I'm not looking to feel spiritually "high" all the time because that is also not realistic and falling from a high place is painful. but I believe I won't fall so far and I will find that peace I have been looking for.

Sweet!

Yesterday I met my best friend in Grade 7. I think it has been more than a decade since we last met.

I have know her since way before grade 7 but I have the more silly memories with her in grade 7.

She really was my best friend at that time. We didn't get into any fight or anything but we went on to different schools and different lives and our paths didn't cross until yesterday.

It was really great catching up with her.

And yes like the title of my blog post her name is Sweet :)

We met at orchard. Ate, walked, ate and walked some more. And of course talked the whole time. Haha.

Genting Trip Timeline

Connected!

I'm back and connected! I need to catch up on my sleep though.

Zombie

We have arrived at Geting. It took 5 almost 6 hours.

The weather here is really cold. It's super nice. We just need to be covered properly.

We left at 11 and arrived around 4.30. We can't check in until 12 lunch time so w are just roaming around.

I'm so sleeeeepy!!!

The bus was really spacious. Lots of le room and sleeping room. And we could watch movies too.

On The Way

Tonight we make our way to Genting which is a few hours from KL Malaysia.
Our coach leaves at 11 and we will arrive around 6 am.

Coming on this trip is Bayu, me, Simon, Simons mom and nephew, stacia, Hydon, autie Pat, Shi Rong, Terrence, Joyce, Frank.

I can't wait for the cool weather.

We had a durian feast this afternoon. We have it at least once a year :D

Banana Icecream

We made the banana ice cream today.

It worked really well. Next time we will try to add vanilla extract and other things we can think of.

So we froze the banana, blended the frozen banana, put it back in the freezer them scooped it into the cone.

100% healthy.

Tomorrow we are going to Genting Highlands in Malaysia.

?!

I didn't know that yesterday was National Running Day. I just found out.

It's on every first Wednesday of June.

I'll do something about that next year haha.

Thank You God

On the last day in Taiwan at around 9 am while we were having our devotion we suddenly felt giddy and looked up to see the lamps and chandeliers swaying and we ourselves swaying. It was ever so lightly but we could see an feel the earthquake.

Later we learnt that elsewhere in Taiwan there was a 4.5 earthquake and were just feeling the tremors of it.

Then when I was on the plane waiting for take off an officer came to me and lo and behold he was holding my pouch which I didn't even know had fallen out of my bag. Inside was some money my identification card and my Singapore sim card.

I gave a sincere prayer of thanks to God for really making sure and cared lenough for me to have a safe and good trip from beginning to end.
