Singapore Youth Training Camp 2010

First time to lay eyes on an ipad! Heheh

The food was vegetarian but for a meatarian like me it was really delicious...

We stayed at Austin Hills Resort, JB Malaysia. It's really close to Singapore just cross the border and a 45 minute bus ride.

My girls and I digging into the Bible.

Phonics Workshop

The school I worked at sent a few colleagues and I to attend a 2 day workshop on teaching phonics to preschoolers and early primary.

I learnt alot and glad for the experience. They didn't have a projector for powerpoint but they had something I had never seen before It works like a giant projecting magnifying glass. You can see it's the black thing sticking out in the middle of the picture. Dunno what its called.

It's cool in the sense that if you have something to show to a large group like a small book you can put it on the table/under the lens and it projects it onto the wall. In my picture it is an A4 piece of paper that is being magnified.

Several colleagues and I had a phonics workshop today and after that we ate lunch at Pastamania...I ate pesto...it's yummmmy and too filling....=P

For dinner my mother-in-law made bubur manado! Super delicious indonesian style porridge that tastes even better with fried anchovies and sambal (chilli sauce)....Bayu and I finished the whole pot....

Q-ing

Welcome to Singapore where Singaporeans admit that this is one of the things they are known for...hehehhehee...

lining up for...

free news papers.

This is the site I see every morning as I get off the train down the station and walk to work.

The first time I encountered this I was like 'oh my goodness what is going on?!'...then I realized they were lining up to get news papers that are distributed every morning at all MRT (train) stations.

My camera couldn't take the whole line this is just like half. I haven't been able to join the line because I'm always in a hurry to get to work on time. =)

Precious Blankie

I had a strawberry Shortcake Blanket since I was 4. I had it with me the whole time in college where I had to rescue it from bullies who tried to hide it from me. (ahem!) I brought it with me to Singapore after getting married and well I lost it. As you might have read in previous blogs we dry clothes at the side of building just sticking bamboo stick in holes outside your window. I cried on the phone to my family and they just laughed at me. haha. Bayu was sweet enough to go searching for it that night and the next morning and help me put up posters as if I had lost a dog or something.

Well, I moved on...until I remembered that the same time I got the strawberry shortcake blanket there was another blanket too. I remember it because it had pictures that I was so fascinated with when I was little. I asked my mom to pass it to someone who was coming and she did. And now I have a blankie again. =D I'm never hanging it outside that's for sure!

I'm not crazy...

Ok...maybe I am
