Running

Hey guys. I know I mentioned that I started running and all that a few months ago. Well, I still enjoy it although the holidays has ruined my routine and I have to start almost all over again! Lol.

That's one thing I like about having a job. Everything is routine and I can fit my exercise in better.

For Christmas Bayu got me some really awesome shoes! I absolutely love it. They are asics running shoes (Gel Nimbus 13 Limited Edition)

Before these shoes I started having knee problems which made me stop running for a few weeks. After the 2nd run in my new shoes my knee problems are gone! Amazing.

Also Bayu and I have registered fr 2 races so far this year. One is in February (10km) and the other in April (half marathon/21km)

My serious training is going to start soon. No wait like now! Hahaha.

Just Another Monday

Hi guys!

I survived Monday! Now I'm lying in bed after a delicious dinner and waiting for it to digest before I go for a run.

Hmm anything interesting happen today? Well, I got a kiss on the cheek from one of my students , hugs and high fives and all that wonderful stuff hahaa.

One thing for sure. Having an extra mile of patience towards the kids and lots of praise and good contact with parents reaps plenty of benefits. It's only my 3rd week into the school year but I'm feeling optimistic :D or maybe because it's the long weekend coming up!

Complete

My whole family came to visit us. My parents for 2 weeks and my sister and Amonch for 1 week.

It was so fun as as usual time flew by.

When they left I cried like a baby lol. It's always hard to say goodbye! Hehhe

It Takes Time

It always takes time - alot of time - to settle in and get used to change. After time things change from awkwardness to happiness and the case I'm talking about is not just settling in in Singapore but also in bayu's my church - Chuan Hoe Church.

I'm really happy with how far I have come to settling in and getting to know everybody. It hasn't been easy and I never thought the time would come when I would write this post.

Anyhow, as I love posting pics here are some pics with my youth/church members out, at home, at church ...

Lol I didn't know I would put up so much pics.

So yes, this my home away from home and my other family. God has been so good.

Blogyear Day 15

Yes, blog year day 15 but 2nd post only hehehe.

Didn't get to sleep in much. Woke up and cleaned house. Took me 4 hours! Aarrgghh detailed me.

If you've been following my blog these few years I have posted some pictures of my houses in Singapore. 3 years here for me and my 3rd house already. So yeah I will post a few pictures at the end of this post. God has really guided us to get this house for rent.

At the moment I'm at an Indonesian gathering. Lots of good food! My first time to taste a Batak beef dish it'sooooooo goooooood.

I don't know what this dish is called but here are some pictures of my current house:

Hehhee do you still remember my very first toilet that had like a "bathtub" aka squatting toilet??

Blogyear

I was looking at my blog archive. I just realized this is coming to my 4th year of [inconsistent] blogging.

In 2008 I wrote 137 posts (wow!) 2009 48 posts (boo..) 2010 98 posts and 2011 90 posts.

Out of 365 days (right?) I only wrote 90 posts last year?!?! Ridiculous! Haha.

I love blogging and I love looking back and reading my past posts. So much fun and memories. I don't regret writing posts but I do regret not writing them.

Soooooo the point is I want to blog everyday of the year 2012! Yes, I missed 13 days. Haha I'll make up for it by writing 2 or 3 posts a day.

I watch some people in YouTube who will vlog (video blog) everyday this year so I got that idea to blog for a whole year from them.

Good luck to me!!!

Happy New Year!

Thank you God for 2011.

God bless us all in 2012 :)

I got to spend new years with my family.

Hmmm what will this year hold? Babies maybe?? Muahahaha

Definitely pray harder, work harder, run more, practice piano more, be active and lead in different church ministries, love more, care more and thank God for each new day and opportunity that he puts in my way :D

What is Faith?

The passage I read for my morning devotion today - Hebrews 11 & 12:1-3

This was such a beautiful passage I just had to share it here on my blog.  Instead of paraphrasing it in my devotional notebook I will paraphrase it here.

Heberws 11:1  NOW FAITH IS BEING SURE OF WHAT WE HOPE FOR AND CERTAIN OF WHAT WE DO NOT SEE.

We show faith when we understand that God created the universe at his own command. (v.3)

Who else showed faith and was faithful in the Bible?  The following are some examples:

- ABEL brought God a better offering than Cain. (v.4)

- ENOCH never faced death because he was commended as one who pleased God. (v.5)

Hebrews 11:6 AND WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD, BECAUSE ANYONE WHO COMES TO HIM MUST BELIEVE THAT HE EXISTS AND THAT HE REWARDS THOSE WHO EARNESTLY SEEK HIM.

- NOAH was warned about things that never happened before but he built an ark to save his family. (v.7)

- ABRAHAM did not even know where he was going but when called to go he obeyed and went. He made his home in the promised land and lived like a stranger in a foreign country for he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. (v.8-10)

- SARAH was able to bear a child even though she was old because she believed God, who made the promise, was faithful. And so from Abraham who was "as good as dead"  from him came descendants as numerous as the stars int he sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore. (v. 11-12)

All these people were still living by faith when they died.  Many of them did not receive the things promised such as seeing how big their descendants would grow or seeing the promised land.  They admitted they were only foreigners and strangers on earth.  They didn't think of the country they had left but were longing for a better country - the heavenly one.  (v. 13-16)

- ABRAHAM was willing to sacrifice Isaac when God tested him.  Because he had faith that God could raise the dead back to life. (v.17-19)

- ISAAC blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future. (v.20)

- JACOB blessed Joseph's sons when he was dying and worshiped God until his old age.(v.21)

- JOSEPH  spoke about the exodus of the Israelites out of egypt before he died ad gave instructions that his bones must go with them. (v.22)

- MOSES'S PARENTS hid him for 3 months because they saw he was no ordinary child and they were not afraid of the king's law.(v.23)

- MOSES when he grew up did not want to be knows as the son of the Pharaoh's daughter.  He did not choose the treasures of Egypt.  He left Egypt not fearing the King's anger and persevered because he believed in God.  He kept the Passover so that the firstborn would be saved.(v.24-28)

-  ISRAELITES passed through the red seas and lived while the egyptians were swallowed up in the water.(v.29)

-  The walls of Jericho fell after the army marched around them for 7 days.(v.30)

- THE PROSTITUTE RAHAB was not killed because she welcomed the spies. (v.31)

There were so many more there's not time to talk about (v.32)
-GIDEON
-BARAK
-SAMSON
-JEPTHAH
-DAVID
-SAMUEL & PROPHETS

all of them through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, escaped the edge of the sword. Their weakness was turned to strength.  Women received back heir dead, raised to life again. (v.33-35)

Others were tortured, faced jeers and flogging, chains and imprisonment.  Some were put to death by stoning, sawed in two, killed by the sword. They were destitute, persecuted and mistreated. They wandered in deserts , mountains, caves and holes in the ground. (v36-38)

They were all commended for their faith.  Yet none of them actually received what had been promised.  Because God has planned something better and they believed in that. (v.39-40)

They are all our witnesses and our examples.  If they can go through that so can we.  We need to let go anything that hinders us from having that faith in God and go through this life with perseverance fixing our eyes on

-JESUS, the pioneer of perfect faith.  He endured the cross for us. (ch. 12 v.2)

Remember Jesus who endured so much for us sinners so that we will not grow weary and lose heart.(v.3)

- LERIE by faith......... ;)
