Smores Please!

I first discovered smores from Laksh and Rochael during one of the few BBQ's I have had with them.  It doesn't turn out as neat ast the picture above but it's really good.

Basically you need buscuits and small sized cadbury chocolates. Oh and of course marshmallows!  Stick the marshmallows on a stick and roast it over the fire until when you press it you can feel it's really soft inside.  Drop it on a biscuit add the chocolates on top and finish it wiht another biscuit so it's like a sandwhich. If the chocolates are already at room temperature and they come in contact with the hot marshmallows they will melt...what a divine combination....

Take a big bite!  Prepare to get sticky fingers...heheh...it's soo good!

It's irresistible for a sweet tooth like me :)

Visits

Calvin dropped by tonight and Rochael came and Bayu cooked and we talked and ate and it was great catching up :)

I got a little gift today. Totally love it!

So colorful I love it! Should I save up and get it as a reward for myself when I can complete my 21k??? Hehhehee ;)

I thought the ones I have now were already colorful until I saw this one.

But my ASICS Gel Nimbus 13 Limited Edition is still my one love :D

Gobble Gobble

One of those days with nothing happening in my life to post about!

So I will post about something Dinu made/cooked up which I have been dreaming about since she sent me the pictures.

I forgot what the dish is called. But who cares about the name when you just wanna gobble the whole picture up!

Flying Time

Ahh! My half marathon is just around the corner and just got to run last night after almost 2 weeks because of holidays and sickness.

I'm glad I was ably to run 8k and still in good shape haha. Still need to get serious with my training If I'm going to survive the 21k :)

Face Time

I got to FaceTime or video chat with my nephew Vincent last night.

He was super cute and funny and he is growing up so fast!

And okay with him the other week.

He gave us an online kiss too! Haha too cute.

Dress me up!

It is my dad's birthday today and my family celebrated by eating out.

They sent me some pictures and I saw they were all dressed up so unwanted to dress up a bit. Hahaha still casual Singapore style dressing up.

I miss them.

Bayu's Surprise Cake 2012

Bayu had a surprise birthday cake from the youth. They decorated it themselves.

There were drawings of a bible, church, a baby (yes they are hinting us haha), Lego, sword, tank... All the studs Bayu likes.

Yes, they know him pretty well! He received some cards and a gift too.

How sweet of them!

We love them lots and are always touched and surprised to see their love for us too.

The cake is a weird color because we were in a room with led lights.

Ordination 2012

Pastor Igan was ordained yesterday and so all pastors and wives and lots of church members were there for the program. The program was pretty short and sweet :)

Our youth led song service and there were lots of refreshments!

Sundown Marathon 2012

Bayu and I and Frank signed up for the race in May. It is another 10k.

It will be in May26 which is a Saturday night. The 10k starts at 9.30pm and 21k at 11pm and the 42k at 2am!

I was thinking of running the 21k but unit starts at 11 pm and I take 3 hours to run I will finish at 2 am! And I have work on Monday haha.

The route will be in the heart of the city at night. I also usually run at night so in pretty excited for this run! It's a popular race so I think there will be more people on this race :)

Time to train harder! Not just for this 10k but on a few weeks I'll be doing a 21k!!! Ahhh!

Birthday Buffet

Bayu's birthday falls on a workday and a Friday. So I finish work at 5 and Bayu has to be on his way to Care Group by 7.30

We managed to get a seat at Buffet Town even though when I called to reserve they said reservations were full so we had our yummy buffet meal in an hour.

It is an international buffet with this months theme being salmon. Salmon cooked in all sorts of ways. That's was great for me :) Bayu did have some vegetarian options.

Desserts were plenty and various and delicious!

We are the last generation that learnt to play in the street, we are the first who've played video games, see cartoons in color and went to amusement parks.  We were the last to record songs of the radio on cassettes and we are the pioneers of walkmans and chatrooms... We learned how to program the VCR before anyone else, play with the Atari, Super......Nintendo and believed that the Internet would be a free world all on a 56kbit modem. Traveled in cars without seat belts or air-bags & lived without cellphones. Rode our bicycles down the road without brakes.  We never had phones but still kept in touch.  We did not have Play stations, 99 television stations, flat screens, surround sound, mp3s, iPods, computers and broadband...

but nevertheless we had a GREAT time.

Senses

I have lost all sense of taste and smell. I am in misery because food isnsi important to me and I can't taste it!

Some miscellaneous things first there is a big eating place at the train station near my work place. So I have another option for breakfast and dinner. Also there is going to be a new mall opening soon nearby! Yay!

Looking Ahead

Work starts again tomorrow (after a few days off). I'm feeling under the weather and some stuff in work that are new and I have to do which I have never done which brings me stress.

So, to cheer me up and help me start this week I want to list down some good things I can look forward to this year. :)

April - my half marathon (21k)

May - hopefully I can register for a run this month too.

June - staff at work will have a retreat to Taiwan. Bayu's colleagues will have a retreat to Phuket, Malaysia and back to Singapore by a cruise

July - another 10k race

For the next few months after I want to sign up for a few more races. Maybe a vertical marathon (a race goin up 72 flight of stairs) or maybe a marathon itself (42k) ??? We will see those are just dreams haha.

Most of all looking forward to December for my friend/sister-in-law Sonya's wedding.

I just registered for a 10k race on July 15 at Garden by the Bay which would be a nice place to run. :)

Brownie Birthday

Today is Jerome's 18th birthday and Stacia baked this really awesome cake which is actually made from brownies.

Jerome is the guy standing straight next to Bayu and Stacia is the gal next to me and my crazy face with her thumbs up ^_^

You can almost always find Jerome texting on his phone and he can SMS away without even looking at the keys he is pressing. Yes he is a pro and should join some competition haha.

Hence the mobile phone brownie :D

It was such a creative cake and it tasted so good in fact I'm salivating just remembering it....hungry now....

Back to work :)

Actually this morning I just had a staff meeting afterwards I went to see the doctor for my almost month long cough.

He gave me 3 medicines. 2 of which will make me drowsy. And it did. I was knocked out for most of the afternoon. I definitely can't take it tomorrow morning as I will be cooking for lunch and not during working hours!

So I don't know If I can get well taking the medication once a day.

It's been going on too log and I just want to feel better. It has especially been in the way of my running routine. It's hard to run when you're coughing and your lungs are full of phlegm!

Well, have a good weekend everyone don't think about Monday just yet. ;)

Indo food

Bayu made his Indo food for my family this morning. It was good and they loved it. It's bubur manado(porridge with veggies), Dabu Dabu (tomatoes) and ayam rica rica (chicken chilli).

Basically you just combine all three into one dish and it is oh so good. You must try. Remind us to let him cook it for you when you are around.

Blizzard!

I havnt eaten ice cream from Dairy Queen in a long time. At te airport I got Oreo blizzard which is what I always order although kit Kat and m and ms are also yummy.

You can turn it upside down and it doesn't fall out. :)
